Lyon Boys Choir – Tour Stops at Prince of Peace Catholic Church

The Lyon Boys Choir from France is on tour in February. Featuring the voices of boys 8-14yo, Prince of Peace Catholic Church is so fortunate to be one of their tour stops. On Sunday, 11 February, the 10a Mass will feature this choir. And, on Monday, 12 February, a special performance is scheduled for 7p in the Church. Admission is free, donations are always appreciated. All are welcome.

The choir is only 5 years old, but has already attained of high level. In 2015, they were in Rome for the international congress with the Pope Francis. Choir director, Robert Hillebrand, is a former director of the Tölzer Knabenchor in Germany, of the Petits Chanteurs de Lyon and of the choir of the cathedral of Rennes in France. His work is based on the pedagogy used in renowed choirs around the world  including Wiener Sängerknaben, Oxford New College Choir, Regensburger Domspatzen.

Closings & Delays (related to 17 January potential winter storm)

A winter storm potential in our area may result in closings or delays of various parish and school-based events. Stay tuned for the latest via this post. As always, make the best decision for you and your family when traveling to the Prince of Peace Catholic Church & School campus:

  • 1/18/18, 5:13PM — School will open on a 2- hour delay on Friday, 19 January. Our 1st Mass will be 12n. The Adoration Chapel will open after the 12n Mass.
  • 1/17/18, 4:58PM — All parish and school activities are cancelled for Thursday, 18 January. No Mass. No evening activities. The Chapel remains closed until further notice.
  • 1/17/18, 4:35PM — All Masses are cancelled for Thursday, 18 January.
  • 1/17/18, 5:58AM — All parish and school activities cancelled for 17 January. School and office (both parish and school) is closed today, 17 January. No Mass.
  • 1/16/18, 11:30PM — Endow Women’s Group meeting on Wednesday evening is cancelled for 17 January.
  • 1/16/18, 12:58PM — a decision about the school will be made by no later than 11p on 16 January and 6a on 17 January.
  • 1/16/18, 11:20AM — the Adoration Chapel closed after the 12 Noon Mass. The plan is to reopen on Thursday, after the 12 Noon Mass. If weather permits an earlier opening, it will be done!
