Kids at Prince of Peace

Religious Education

Religious Education meets on Sundays at 8.50a with approximately 170 children and 23 teachers across grades K5-8th. Children who are not attending a Catholic school are encouraged to enroll in this program. Those children desiring First Holy Communion and Confirmation are required to attend. Enrollment begins each May.

How do I arrange baptism for my child?

Parents desiring Baptism for their child must be active, registered members of the Parish and attend Baptismal Classes. Baptisms are able to be celebrated in the Ordinary and Extraordinary Form. For complete information on Baptisms, review our Baptism Booklet and contact Deacon Nestor Acosta at baptisms@princeofpeacetaylors.org.

I would like my child to receive First Communion, what do I do?

Children reaching 7 years of age or Second Grade generally receive their First Holy Communion at this time. Children must prepare for two years, usually beginning in Grade 1. Confession must precede Holy Communion and parents and students are required to attend mandatory meetings, retreat and successfully pass the test. A child may prepare for First Holy Communion as a student of our Religious Education Program or Prince of Peace Catholic School. Children who are older must contact our Pastoral Associate for Children’s Catechesis, Maria Barontini.
