This Sunday, we celebrate All Saints’ Day, honoring the holy men and women who have gone before us in faith. As November begins, we also remember and pray for the faithful departed, entrusting them to God’s mercy and the hope of eternal life.

In this week’s bulletin, Fr Christopher Smith reflects on preparing our hearts to receive Holy Communion, the importance of thanksgiving afterward, and how we can deepen our reverence for the Eucharist.

Highlights This Week

  • All Saints’ Day | Sunday, 1 November: Children are invited to dress as saints for the procession before the 10a Mass. Vespers of All Saints will be celebrated at 6p in the church.
  • Candlelit Vespers of the Dead | Sunday, 1 November: Join us at 7.15p at the Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, followed by a candlelit procession through the cemetery. A map and additional details are included in the bulletin.
  • All Souls’ Day | Monday, 2 November: Mass at 7a and a chanted Latin Requiem Mass at 7p. Throughout November, our Requiem Altar and Board of Remembrance will honor deceased loved ones.
  • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd | Thursday, 5 November: Learn about plans for a possible atrium at Prince of Peace during a 9a interest meeting in the Parish House.
  • Holiday Craft Fair | Saturday, 7 November: Shop handcrafted gifts and holiday treasures from 9a–2p in the PAC. Free admission and parking!
  • Veterans BBQ & Potluck | Sunday, 8 November: Help us honor those who have served following the 10a Mass. The parish provides BBQ; please bring a side dish.
  • Box of Joy | Through 8 November: Only 40 boxes remain toward our goal of blessing 150 children. Pick up a box and help bring Christmas joy to a child in need.
