Youth Soccer Challenge Competition

Youth Soccer Challenge Competition

Our local Knights of Columbus Council is hosting a Youth Soccer Challenge Competition at Prince of Peace and all Prince of Peace boys and girls aged 9-14 are invited to participate.  This competition will be held Sunday, September 11th, after the 8 AM and 10 AM Masses, on the field by the Knights of Columbus building.  Participants take 15 penalty-type shots on goal without a goalie. The goal is divided into five scoring zones, the upper corners count as 20 points, the lower corners as 10 points, and the central portions of the goal is a 5 point zone. Winners are determined based on the highest point total.

The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters based in New Haven, CT on scores from the state-level competitions.  Again, all boys and girls 9 to 14-years-old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event.  Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.

If you have questions regarding this competition, please contact Coach David Cervetti, 571.212.5644 or dcervetti@yahoo.com

Be a part of CYO Dinners!

Be a part of CYO Dinners!

A large part of CYO’s time together on Sunday evenings from 7-9p is spent around a table sharing a meal. This provides us an opportunity to catch up with friends that we don’t see every day, hear about what is going on in each other’s lives, chat about current events, and laugh together.
Each year, we send out a spreadsheet for families and parishioners to share in the life of our group and sign up to bring a meal for the teens. Here is a link to the spreadsheet where you can sign up by filling your name in the column next to the date you’d like to commit to. We usually have 25-30 kids each week that are very grateful for your assistance! If you have any questions or would like more details, please contact Stephanie Lasitter at 331.3905 or stephanie.lasitter@princeofpeacetaylors.org
