Dribble for Destiny – Basketball Camp
Dribble for Destiny is a non-profit organization traveling the country hosting camps aimed at helping young athletes find their full potential not only on the basketball court, but in all aspects of life. Its founder, Sherri Odlevak, has coached basketball for over 25 years, was named All Conference for two years and Outstanding Woman Athlete of the Year for three years at the University of Wisconsin, earned the title of National Heptathlon Champion, and was named All American in track and field.
From 10-13 July, Prince of Peace is hosting this recognized basketball camp for ages 6-13 (boys & girls) from 9a-12n in the PAC. The fee is $95 and includes a tshirt or ball. Parents are encouraged to attend the 11a Thursday Awards Ceremony (13 July). Print the form and mail it in to the address provided.
A typical day at camp looks like this:
9:00 a.m. – Arrival
9:10 a.m. – 9:40 a.m. – Stations (single ball, two ball, shooting, passing, defensive footwork, four square, knock out, 2-on-2, and knock away)
9:40 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Team concepts (offensive team concepts include primary break, transition, secondary break, and triangles; defensive concepts include zig-zag drill, box out, shell drill, trapping, and press)
10:00 a.m. – 10:10 a.m. – Devotion (this year’s theme is “WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?” – MARK 8:29)
10:10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Contests by age group (speed shot, knock out, hot shot, pressure free throws)
10:30 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. – Snack and video
10:50 a.m. – 12:00 noon – Full court play
