Feast of the Assumption
The feast of the Assumption is Monday, 15 August. It commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven, before her body could begin to decay-a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the end of time. Because it signifies the Blessed Virgin’s passing into eternal life, it is the most important of all Marian feasts. The Mass times are as follows:
- 7a Quiet Mass
- 8.30a Sung Mass
- 7p EF Mass
On this day we have the Blessing of Herbs. If you would like to have your herbs blessed, please place them at the Our Lady Queen of Peace altar to be blessed.
